I Stopped Trading Time for money and Started Learning AI

I love the creator economy. I don't say that lightly.

For most of my life, the only path anyone showed me for making money was the same one everyone else was on: trade an hour of your life for a few dollars, and repeat until you're tired. Show up, clock in, get paid for your time, not your ideas.

The ceiling was low and the walls were close.

The creator economy blew those walls out.

It's the first time in history that a regular person, no venture capital, no computer science degree, no permission from a gatekeeper, can turn what's in their head into something people actually pay for.

Your experience, your taste, your point of view: those became assets.

That still amazes me.

But here's the part nobody tells you when you're starting out.

The hardest thing about building something online was never the idea.

It was the technology.

You'd have a great concept and then hit a wall of code, databases, payment processors, and a dozen tools that all needed to talk to each other.

That wall is where most side hustles quietly died.

That wall is gone now. And that's the story I actually want to tell.

The OverSkill Games changed how I think about "building"

Recently I got pulled into something called the OverSkill Games, tied to Russell Brunson and Todd Dickerson's AI Secrets Challenge.

The premise sounds almost too simple: sign up free, describe the app you want in plain words, and ship a working version in 24 hours.

Ten finalists, one $10,000 winner.

OverSkill itself is a no-code AI app builder from Todd Dickerson, the co-founder and CTO of ClickFunnels.

You don't write code.

You describe the software you want in plain English and it builds the working app, it wires up the database, the payments, the member management, all the plumbing that used to require a developer and a budget.

Sit with what that means for a second.

The bottleneck of the creator economy, "I have the idea but I can't build it" just disappeared.

As Russell put it, the hard part isn't building anymore.

It's deciding what to build.

So I decided to find out what I would build.

The 3 apps I created

I didn't build three apps because I was trying to win a contest.

I built them because once the technology stopped being the obstacle, ideas I'd been sitting on for years suddenly became things I could make in an afternoon.

1. StoryOS — turning invisible expertise into a sellable system

This is the one I'm most proud of.

Six- and seven-figure founders don't have a shortage of experiences, proof, or ideas.

They have an extraction and organization problem.

Their most valuable marketing assets are scattered across their head, their sales calls, their podcasts, and their camera roll.

StoryOS turns that invisible intellectual property into a searchable system their team can actually use.

It's not a "content day" and it's not a template.

It's a way to extract the story, codify the message, capture the authority, and scale the voice, so the founder's best thinking stops living in their head and starts working for them.

I've even mapped out how this becomes a real premium offer, not a cheap digital product:

  • Strategy-only StoryOS Intensive: $3,500–$6,000

  • Strategy + studio capture: $7,500–$12,000

  • Full founder campaign with team implementation: $15,000–$25,000+

Those are positioning ranges to test, not promises, the real number depends on production level, usage rights, team involvement, and deliverables.

But notice the shift: this isn't $7-an-hour work.

This is packaging expertise into something worth thousands.

2. The Voice & Story Builder, teaching AI to sound like you

Everyone's rushing to use AI to write for them, and most of it comes out sounding like everyone else. That's the trap.

The Voice & Story Builder is a workbook app that solves both halves of that problem at once.

The first half teaches you how to train any AI tool to write in your voice, not a generic, sanded-down version of it.

The second half gently pulls your actual story out of you, so the words that get created sound like you on your best day.

It's built to feel like sitting down with coffee, phone face down, for an hour or two. No wrong answers, everything saves as you go.

The idea is simple but it's the thing most creators miss: your story is the strategy.

AI is only as good as the raw material you give it, and your life is the raw material.

3. More Room, for busy moms building a bigger life

This one is close to my heart because it's for the person I know best.

More Room starts with a question most moms feel but never say out loud: what if the reason your home feels so heavy has nothing to do with how organized you are?

At the center is a free, private, 60-second Family Freedom Test that reveals whether money, time, clutter, or mental load is creating the most pressure in your home, and gives you your score, your highest-pressure category, and one personalized next step.

No giant checklist. No guilt. No "just be a more organized mom." Just one clear place to begin.

It's proof that an app doesn't have to be complicated to be meaningful, it just has to meet a real person at a real moment.

What I actually want you to take from this

If you're reading this and you're stuck in the trade-time-for-money loop, here's what I want you to hear.

The creator economy is not about being famous, or "hustling," or grinding out content until something sticks.

It's about the fact that your knowledge and your stories are worth more than your hours, and for the first time, you have the tools to prove it without learning to code or hiring a team.

A side hustle online doesn't have to mean another job on top of your job.

It can mean building something once that keeps working for you.

The idea in your head that you keep talking yourself out of?

You could describe it in plain words this weekend and have a working version by Monday.

I did. Three times.

And I'm just getting started.

Want to see what I built? StoryOS, the Voice & Story Builder, and More Room are all live.
